2021 ANNUAL REPORT TO CONGRESS ON THE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES EDUCATION ACT

2021 Annual Report to Congress on the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act

OSERS released the 43rd Annual Report to Congress on the Implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, 2021. The report focuses on children with disabilities being served under IDEA, Part B and Part C, nationally and at the state level. Note: The number of full-time equivalent (FTE) personnel and number and percentage of FTE fully certified personnel employed to provide related services for children and students ages 3 through 21 served under IDEA, Part B, by personnel type is featured on page 77. Recreation and therapeutic recreation specialists are listed in this FTE chart along with physical education teachers; the combination of RTs with PE teachers makes our FTE number report inaccurate. However, this chart is important and relevant to RTs because therapeutic recreation specialists continue to be included as fully certified personnel employed to provide related services. Recreation, including therapeutic recreation, also continues to be listed as a related service in the "Note" at the bottom of page 77.
