Advocacy & Legislative

For the Advocacy & Legislative Team, we are looking for individuals who have interest in, experience with, or a desire to learn about issues related to our advocacy and legislative efforts. The purpose of the Advocacy & Legislative Area is that ATRA will engage in public policy and external advocacy efforts for the inclusion of recreational therapy services and programs at the state and federal level.

  • Licensure
  • Coalitions
  • Monitoring Legislation

Higher Education

For the Higher Education area, we are looking for individuals who have interest in, experience with, or a desire to learn about issues related to Higher Education. The purpose of the Higher Education area is that ATRA will support all higher education programs in recreational therapy in an effort to ensure a robust, well-prepared workforce.

Professional Practice

For the Professional Practice area, we are looking for individuals who have interest in, experience with, or a desire to learn about issues related to Professional RT Practice. The purpose of the Professional Practice area is that ATRA will promote excellence in professional practice and support efforts to continue the growth of RT practitioners.
