MORE TO EXPLORE...
The governance of ATRA rests with the ATRA Board of Directors (BOD). The BOD consists of the following positions: President, President-Elect, Past President, Treasurer, Secretary, and five Members-at-Large. The President-Elect serves for three years, one as President-Elect, one as President and one as Past President. All other positions are for a three year term. Each year a variety of positions are up for election. Board terms begin at the annual membership meeting held during the annual conference.
Elections are typically held in late spring and all active members who are qualified, are invited to run. This year we have five open board positions: President-Elect, Treasurer, and three Members-at-Large. Please visit the nominations and elections page for more information about these open positions.
Members are permitted at any time to attend board meetings as a guest and view past minutes of ATRA board meetings.
Board members serve as for all of our strategic plan focus areas. Learn how you can get involved.

ATRA 2025, ATRA’s five-year strategic plan designed to steward ATRA’s members and the profession into a successful future, was collectively written by the 2019 ATRA Board of Directors. It was adopted by the Board on September 13 at the ATRA Annual Conference in Reno, NV, and presented to the members at the annual Membership Meeting on September 15.
The content of this plan was predicated on substantial member input from various surveys and work groups, most notably, the ATRA Higher Education Task Force, the ATRA Delphi and Competency Study and the ATRA Definitions Task Force. Additionally, the current plan flowed from the previous strategic plan developed in 2013.
The Board of Directors will begin the process of bringing the plan to life over the coming months. If you desire to get involved in supporting ATRA’s future, or have questions about the plan, please reach out to Brent Wolfe, Executive Director.
